As a black curly girl I found it hard to determine which companies are black owned or not. There is so many brands out there and I wanted to make sure that I am putting my best efforts towards supporting black owned businesses. I’ve included popular brands that are not black owned and that are as well as plenty more listed below. Please keep in mind that while some brands started as a black owned business they have sold their companies and are no longer “black owned” I hope this is helpful when navigating which companies to support. This video is not intended to condemn anyone for not using black owned brands only to inform and inspire people.

  14. latrice hubbard on November 22, 2020 at 9:21 pm

by made beautiful is a black owned brand too that is very good but highly underrated. i love as i am products even though they aren`t black owned and will continue to use it. for me personally i use black and non black owned products so it doesn`t really matter to me. great informative list 🙂

  15. Nixon Tech on November 22, 2020 at 9:21 pm

    Very nice

  16. Nae Nae D. Beauty on November 22, 2020 at 9:21 pm

Correction on the video! As I Am and Kera Care are not black owned! They are owned by a larger company that’s not black owned. Also Dr. Syed is the creator of both, but does not own the companies.

  17. Paige _Judah on November 22, 2020 at 9:21 pm

Arcani coil, Crown me coil is blk owned, the "rubchallenge" hair line.

  18. Paige _Judah on November 22, 2020 at 9:23 pm

Thanks for this I know of many that’s blk owned but not all and very skeptical of some like Mane Choice. When I’m confident that they’re blk owned I’ll order certain products from each line to support everyone, really aren’t into buying the complete lines for one single product.

    Excellent Video. First time

  21. Donnarico123 on November 22, 2020 at 9:25 pm

Great video, very informative. I’ve done some research and found out that Blue Magic is owned by J Strickland & Co and Linda L Clifton is the director. I’ve read that she is white and that the founder was also white (from a post on another site).

Interestingly, I found separate websites for World of Curls and Sulfur 8 made in the same style as the Blue Magic website, but none of the websites mention the other products. This is very strange as all

  25. Special K D on November 22, 2020 at 9:34 pm

Was kinda sad some of my favs are no longer owned by blacks.

  26. bree love allways on November 22, 2020 at 9:35 pm

I wonder what made them sell? It seems so difficult to direct my hard earned coins to my people’s businesses without someone else’s hands out to grab it ……..frustrated in CT 😠

  29. Lizzie Clay on November 22, 2020 at 9:36 pm

Thank you so much for the information. I try and update myself concerning the Black owned products because we need to support people that make products just for us because no one else cares. Good job. New subscriber. Btw, you’re so pretty, look like my daughter.😘

I am glad my hair never liked DevaCurl. I am almost out of Shea Moisture shampoo
, Cantu, and Eco Styler gel and I need to let my mom know about Doo gro, African best, Cream of nature, Dr. Miracles, and Mane n tame. My hair absolutely loves Kinky Curly! Luckily I use mostly leave-in cond. in my hair and I am learning to use less products on my hair. Natural oils are amazing as well. Too bad there is not a black-owned business that makes extra virgin olive oil or other oils (that I know of)…

  31. Special K D on November 22, 2020 at 9:37 pm

I get it, keep it black-owed but we also need to think about those companies may have been sold but could still be maintaining majority black employees so purchasing these items may still be a contribution to the black communities.

  32. Unhandy on November 22, 2020 at 9:38 pm

    Who cares

  33. AAAReview on November 22, 2020 at 9:39 pm

Black owned business great I’ll search for the business you didn’t mention and I’ll add it to my comment when I do thanks

  35. Odessa C. Armstrong on November 22, 2020 at 9:41 pm

Every race gets rich off of us except us.. We need to do better…I’m tired of it, we always sell out and they wait for it because they know we are more greedy for the money than the legacy!!!

  36. Lovely Sunshine on November 22, 2020 at 9:41 pm

I never knew Lusters was Black owned ~ I grew up on their pink lotion 🙂
