I’m 35 and do my makeup similar to your 20’s side… I find I can still pull it off becasue I get told I look so much younger. I have to be strategic in the color combinations I choose and how much I layer on becasue as I’ve gotten older my skin looks better with less or thin layers.

Oh Sharon how I wish I could come to your future makeup classes. I need to learn how to war with gravity to my advantage

Your 20s look makes your eyes look less hooded

I love both sides but I like the left side the most!! . I believe age doesn’t matter how you do your makeup as long as it doesn’t look hideous. Even an 18 year old could wear glitter and bright eyeshadows and either make it look awesome or go overboard and look tacky like they are going for the disco ball look. But if they enjoy it who cares! And that goes for any age and this is just my opinion. Makeup should be done based on who the person likes from the inside, not what the world thinks they "should" be doing. Now I do understand that there are two ways to do it. Some people do it gracefully and others overdo it where it looks ridiculous. Like they are trying to look like a cartoon, haha But if you came up to me and had your makeup done the way you did it on the left side, it would cross my mind that it is too young looking in that you didn’t follow the "rules" that Society made up. You did it flawlessly and I think your eyes look wonderful and alert and open. I am 37 and I honestly don’t think I look or feel 37, honestly. People even say I don’t look 37. The youngest I have been told was 29 or 30 which is pretty cool 😎 I’ll take that any day! My husband is two and a half years younger than me and people think he is older but I think it is because of his beard. I still wear shimmery eye makeup and even have fun with a little glitter when I go out. I don’t overdo it and I enjoy it. Even when I am old, if I get cremated there better be glitter in it! Just like clothing, makeup expresses the individual. There is a ridiculous way to go about it regardless of age and then there’s a graceful way to do it. I only have so many years on this Earth and I have no problem or shame in wearing any color or makeup look that I enjoy. I will continue to do so and if people don’t like it that’s on them! 😂 it’s nothing about denial of age, at least for me. If I wore "age appropriate" makeup all the time, it’s like I am denying myself on what I love. As time passes I will change how I apply my makeup but I will always do my makeup and have fun with it, in whatever way makes me happy. The way you did your makeup on the right side is fabulous, but in this video my favorite is the left side. You’re obviously not a teen but you rock everything about the way you did it. You did it wonderfully and I think only a fool would criticize it. And if they do, who cares!!! 😂 both sides are a reflection of you, regardless of how you did it. And that is what I love, people being true to themselves. Rules are made to be broken and if it is regarding makeup, there are bigger problems in life 4 people to focus on. Again, with makeup, everyone should Express themselves the way they feel is best. Don’t worry your makeup based on what tabloids and magazines say. Everything I said is just my opinion. You are beautiful. ❤️❤️

I love this. So real and true. Everything you said happens when you hit 30. I was feeling down, but this lifted my spirits

  6. Faith Love Peace on November 22, 2020 at 9:14 pm

I like the face makeup on the 30’s sides but i like the eye makeup better on the 20’s side

Great video Sharon and very interesting content! I totally get what you mean and agree that our faces change a lot through the years and we do have to adjust our make up to those changes. However it seems like the camera is loving your 20s makeup more than your 30s makeup. On camera both sides look fresh but the 30s side looks less sharp and vibrant, just a bit less interesting. To be honest I noticed the same with my makeup and how it looks on pictures, as I am also in my mid thirties now. And the actual thing is that the full face full-cover makeups that still look great on camera, do no longer look and sit good on my skin in person. Thus, I am pretty sure that in person your 30s makeup looks perfect and that is also the style that I would go for a day look but it’s too toned down for the camera and doesn’t show up as much as it really is.

  8. Jennifer C on November 22, 2020 at 9:17 pm

I used to do my make up that way too! We were so rebellious! It definitely gave me a feeling edgy confidence boost lol 😂
Thank you for explaining all the changes and why! It definitely helps 😊

  9. Kayla Levine on November 22, 2020 at 9:18 pm

Love it! thank you so much! I’m 34 and have been struggling with how to wear makeup for years especially since I have a 3 year old and don’t have time to do much. This helped a ton! Thanks!

Thank you so much for this video, I will soon be turning 40 and feel that the liquid winged eyeliner look is not as flattering as it used to be however the pencil and gel liners just don’t last in hot and humid Florida weather, any suggestions?

  15. Nathalie Caron on November 22, 2020 at 9:31 pm

Like both look. Really enjoy the video. I preferred the 30’s side but I think your eyes looks great with the 20’s . Still like the eyeliner😊 maybe because the cool shadow suit well.

  16. Fateema Hafiz on November 22, 2020 at 9:32 pm

Im 36 now. I cant really see the difference because you still look pretty both ways. The 30s look, looks more natural and fresh. 20s look, looks more touched up. I cant do makeup like you and just wear compact powder and eyeliner. My husband cant really see the difference anyway.he says i still look pretty.. Wish i know how to do make up like you

I am in my mid 30 and I look best with minimum make up (only use concealer, blush cream cheek, eyeshadow , eyebrown pencil, mascara and color chapstick), I stay away from foundation and powder because my face look cakey after 30 minutes, dry and flake but oily and dull same time. Every time i check my photos and if i did contour i saw my face with a brown cheek stripes like i just went out of charcoal factory. I am start in love with minimal makeup. But i do wish my cheekbone back

  19. Alissa Maxwell on November 22, 2020 at 9:32 pm

This is exactly what I was looking for. Excellent demonstration.

  20. Helen Hines on November 22, 2020 at 9:33 pm

I’m almost 29. I always liked soft natural makeup. Never used bronzer till this year bc I’m so freakin fair. I thought tan people’s bronzer wouldn’t work for me, but I have to use a lot less and blend more. It gives me a nice glow. Sometimes it just looks like dirt and mica smeared on my face which makes me hesitant to use it. Ugh, even at 28 my age is showing. I used to get compliments all the time about how I looked 17 at 23, now no one ever says that to me (maybe it’s the two kids attached to me…). I used to line my entire eye with black liner at times, it was cringey. Now I just do a more a subtle smoked out line. Highlighters weren’t as "in" or "necessary" 10 years ago. Omg I also over plucked in the days of thin brows. So glad fuller brows are back in style. It’s a bit depressing watching all these gorgeous 20-somethings, but I’m only 28! I’m using more plumping and hydrating skincare instead of fighting the oil. I also used to spend 2 hours applying makeup. With two little kids, 30 uninterrupted minutes is a luxury.

Sharon I love your videos, I am sorry I only discovered your channel yesterday! I also suffer migraines and tension headaches, did the botox really help??

  22. Debbie Williams on November 22, 2020 at 9:35 pm

Definitely Less is more. Love the 30 side so much. Could you possibly do a look for mature skin.

Omggg I’m 27 (just turned 27 this April) and I’m so close to 30 I recently realized I have a tiny crows feet in the corner of my eyes and don’t use much foundation or concealer I prefer bare minimal makeup and I’m sooooo Excited to see mature women on youtube.com doing vids!!!!

  26. R S on November 22, 2020 at 9:39 pm

I can totally relate to this video! I used to wear a mask, now I have days I wear nothing and don’t care 😊 a little makeup looks like a lot now vs 20s!

  27. Sarah Maley on November 22, 2020 at 9:40 pm

Has anyone else found that concealers marketed towards women who are older (like It Cosmetics Under Eye Concealer) is super thick? It doesn’t make any sense! Perrincone MD’s No Makeup Concealer is so much lighter. I love it. NYX is also a great consistency.

  28. Sara Chavez on November 22, 2020 at 9:40 pm

My personal opinion about your make up is that your 20s side looks really good on you & i see nothing wrong with it. Your left side you look tired & 40. Sorry why change perfectly good make up.

  29. annabelle123dog on November 22, 2020 at 9:44 pm

I actually think you look younger with the 20,s makeup. Your eyes pop, but you should do what makes you feel best.

  30. Sarah on November 22, 2020 at 9:46 pm

Best video ever! I’m thirty this year and all my makeup worries are now dispersed. I was bummed about changing up my eyeliner routine from my twenties but then I realized I don’t miss it and that’s okay. You helped me update my eyeliner routine! Ty!

  31. Maya J on November 22, 2020 at 9:48 pm

This video is misleading… you r just turning 30 but still look in your early 20s. Need something for someone with sags and lines…. mid to late 30s

  32. Carri Foote on November 22, 2020 at 9:48 pm

Helpful video! I see the difference and appreciate how the 30’s side gives your proportions more balance; although you are a naturally pretty girl already. I am 63 and cringe when I see how much makeup the girls put on today!

That’s such a good idea, pretending to explain things to a child. It makes you think differently about logistics of putting on makeup. and can work with any other skills.

thanks for this vid. I am now in my 30s and finding it hard to create makeup looks which suit me. I also agree that something quick and simple is best but can also achieve similar look with less effort. I love purples and pinks used to use it all the time in 20s. I see now that I should try more of a natural look now I am in my 30s too
