Seated Exercises for Older Adults

As we age, physical activity helps us attain our goals, maintain our functioning and promote comfort. In addition, routine exercise can help reduce arthritis pain, improve mood, sleep and blood sugar control, as well as affect memory.

This video includes both balance and strengthening exercises, which can prevent falls and hip fractures. This video is appropriate for those older adults who cannot stand or who need support when standing.

    I’m not sure but, if anyone else trying to find out elderly exercise video try Loctavan Senior Fitness Strategy (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? I’ve heard some super things about it and my buddy got excellent success with it.

    It gives advice about helping knee raises with the hand, if necessary, and for using therabands/cuff weights, but NO advice about the leg raises! Like many older people, I have quite bad arthritis of the knees, I can’t straighten my legs, but there is no advice as to whether one should push through the pain, or stop when it hurts! I really like the exercises, but this is a big problem for me, and I don’t doubt for others with arthritis.

    That was the most depressing display of exercising I’ve ever seen seriously all of you should be checking out Sally Sunshine gentle Fitness at least I have some personality and smile and laugh once in awhile same great exercises tons of videos available on YouTube

    Thank you for considering us over 60s. The exercises are very well demonstrated and easy to understand. Now I have to be consistent. I had moving disability. calcium deposited in my hips joint ,so it fixed now. i sit on high chair, it has long back support and shoulder rest (handle). Permit me to testify here.     Good videos thank you. The last videos I looked at for seniors had them doing things that 50 and 60 year olds can do but not 80 and 90 year olds!
